Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 Install Question
Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 Install Question
I recently installed the Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 on my G and it sounds badass by the way. But in the installation instructions it says to take off the heat shield behind the rear passenger side of the bumper. I took it off so the exhaust would be centered but I noticed three or four hoses and two plugs under there that are exposed. Does anyone know if it is a problem to leave them exposed? If so, what could I do to cover them? Thanks

Its not a problem. Many (if not most) aftermarket exhausts require removal of the evap box heat shield. There are probably 10's of thousands of G's running without it.
i had to remove this too when installing my Fast Intentions, i wrapped the hoses with heat resistive tape to help me sleep at night, i knew lots of people just left it open but if anything were to happen i felt like that I would be THAT guy for something to happen
so far all is good the tape is holding up well

Hey Tony i have one of the last harakiri Titanium exhaust u sold me and it rattles like **** during turns or at 80mph on the fwy ive spoke to you before about this but never had the chance to actually visitng you,do you think that, that heat shield is causing my exhaust to rattle uncontrollably?? the exhaust shop did not remove anything from my car.

Its an expensive piece but its very good quality and sounds amazing. Its not overbearing and quiet at an idle but authoritative when pressed.
And for all you other guy's posts, thanks a lot for the suggestions. I'll probably wrap them in some type of tape just to make myself feel better about it.

Awesome bro thank you as well cause i was beginning to think my exhaust wasn't installed correctly or was hitting sway bar but went underneath it and that wasn't the case since i didn't see any scratches nor dents there, but it all makes sense now that stupid piece at the end passenger side haha.
