Talking Intake Upgrade

I'm getting an AEM cold air intake put on my 03 G35 coupe. I was wondering if there really is any benefit, considering it just cost me $600 for parts and install. Also what is the best thing to do to a G35 performance-wise. As far as cost, besides Turbo. Thanks in advance.

Plenum spacer is the best bang for the dollar. It would of netted more HP than your $600 air intake.
I'd recommend searching. I'm sorta new to the G35 as well. Theres still tons of stickies and other threads out there. If you research more, you will find out what is good and whats not for HP gain.

5/16th motordyne spacer would have been the best start for you. Try to aim for that next followed by some exhaust mods like y-pipe or test pipes. Tune to finish it off and get all the power u can out of the mods. Save some money and put that intake on yourself man, not hard to do at all

Cool Spacer

Thank you so much for the input. I really appreciate it. What does the spacer do and where can you get it? What does it do exactly?

There is but you'll want to go with osiris instead of a chip, spend some time searching around the forums in all sections man. We do also have a tuner directory in the tuning section that can help u locate a tuner in your area

Forget chips, go for osiris tune. 600 on CAI is crazy ridiculous. Just get a nice exhaust and Z-Tube+AEM filter. Plenum spacer, HFC's and then get a tune.

Dude you could of got ART pipes with 600 bucks. But hey we live and learn. As far as getting the plenum spacers some of the Vendors carry them if not you can order directly from Motordyne. I would do a lot more reading and searching any question you might have, has most likely been answered already. Good luck to you

$600! For no gains, just sound. $80-$100 would have got you the best intake setup for a G35 (rev-up air box plus high flow dry panel filter).

Who ever said pop charger - ehh. Once again, it's all for the sound.

+1000 on the plenum spacer. You'll feel gains for sure. I've been very satisfied with my MotorDyne spacer.

Chips are garbage also. Don't fall for those crooks. Enjoy your ride!

I did Plenum Spacer, Z-Tube and K&N Drop for less than $300 - very noticeable difference for half that price.

I am new here too. Searched all the posts for opinions and advice before making my selections and they did not disappoint. Lots of good stuff here and alot of people that have "been there, done that"

I'm not a mechanic or too savy when it comes to working on cars, but the step by step threads on this site made it absoutely easy! Once you've done one successfully, your confidence will increase and so will the money you can save!

Live and learn!

Make sure you seach the posts for your questions before just asking. There is ALOT of good information here. All you have to do is look.

I hope you don't plan on going back to that shop...

Most of the bolt-ons that do add power are not complicated to install and don't require any special tools. You should be able to find a DIY on here for just about anything, if not then ask about a specific item.
