mD 5/16 Plenum spacer question

I did my 5/16?spacer last night thought everything was great until I started it idle was all over the place.... Drove it all day got some starter spray to check the seals and they were all off, waited for the engine to cool then tightened them down noticed I left off the vacuum hose for the throttle body too lol.. Put it back on and she running purrrrfect.. Thinking back on what I did I realized I left out the original gasket which has some extra parts in the middle... Question is has anyone else left this off, should I reinstall it or does it not change anything? Almost forgot the middle metal piece in the center too but I put it back on... Does the original have any purpose on sealing the plenum or am I good?

Did you read Motordynes instruction on the install, did Tony mention leaving the OE gasket on the plenum? I installed my spacer 7 years ago and I remember throwing the OE gasket away....maybe.

It says the oe gasket is not needed but it won't hurt anything if you leave it in.
