Symptoms of over oiled popcharger....

Can somebody tell me the symptoms of an over oiled popcharger? I finally had to clean mine and I tried not to over spray it, did just enough to turn it all consistently blue again and so that all of the filter had oil on it and i took paper towels and dabbed it when i was done just in case. Starts and idles fine, it just smells like cat now after I drive it even for just a short trip. Should I clean it all off and spray it with less?

What did you use to clean/oil the filter? Is it possible you have a dry filter that doesn't require oil? Look closely under your hood, did you pick up a cat? Regardless of what you used it shouldn't smell like that....

I've got the standard jwt popcharger and I ordered the blue recharging oil. I will do a closer inspection tomorrow and take the filter off to look at it but I'm sure everything is as it should be.
By cat I mean it smells like catalytic converter lol!!

Ok........maybe it is your converters, nothing you can do to a intake will make it smell like rotten eggs! What happens when you install cone filters that are wet or have excess oil, there's the possibility it will mess with your sensors....little else!

Your car would probably be having more problems if you put too much, the damage would be to the maf. Look in your intake pipe, if there is a ton of blue then you prob added way too much.
