Smoke/burning smell after installing intake

Hey guys,

So I've had my G for about 6 months now, and have just decided to add an intake. I bought a JWT pop charger with Z tube and installed it today. I followed all the directions perfectly (as far as i know), and took my time with the install.

After I was finished I went for a drive and noticed a burning smell when I gunned it. Decided to go back home and when I pulled into the garage, there was a whitish smoke coming from under the hood.

What could this be? Any ideas?

Whitish smoke coming from under the hood? Did you check which area under the hood the smoke as coming from?

Check all lines and make sure they are tight, possibly accidentally bumped one loose.

Sounds like the oil dipstick isn't in all the way.

This could definitely be a possibility. I may have bumped the dipstick when installing the intake and I think the smoke was coming from that area. I'll check when I get home from work. I really hope this is the issue, this makes me very hopeful! Thanks guys!

That was it! The dipstick was slightly poking out, I drove it around for about 20 min and no burning smell. Thank you, you saved me a big headache from trying to diagnose this when it was just a simple fix
