My turbo G is too loud, any advice on how to quiet it?

Ok so I've really grown tired of how loud my G is, I hate feeling guilty leaving late at night and it just kind of gets on my nerves in general.

I have a Momentum turbo setup, Momentum headers and exhaust. At first it was obscenely loud, so I added a resonator, which helped, but barely. So then I added a high flow cat, which helped more than the resonator but it's still damn loud. That and with the HFC my HP dropped from 429 to 380 or so, but a retune got it back up to 438/426.

They sell universal silencers, would that make a difference? Would it be dangerous to restrict the exhaust that much at the end? Honestly at this point I don't care if I lose some power, I'm just wondering if there is any way I can get it back to a reasonable level.

Any suggestions?

Maybe swap out the muffler for a chambered one? Any straight through muffler is going to be pretty loud. You could always get a cutout for those times you don't mind the noise and want the power back.

I had a turbo Maxima that I sold to a friend. My setup was obnoxiously loud, you could hear me coming a mile away and late at night I would baby it so I wouldn't wake anyone up. I had a test pipe, 2 resonators and a straight through muffler. My friend took the same turbo setup, but just replaced the straight through muffler with a chambered Magnaflow. It actually sounded nice when I last saw it. Still pretty loud, but not any louder than other modified cars. And on the dyno, he was within like 10whp from the previous setup.

Get a muffler, or change the one you have.

I suggest you get a retune once you do since it can affect your motor.

what size dual exhaust do you have installed? dual 2.5" should be fine, but dual 3.0" will be very loud with little you can do about it.

So when you say chambered muffler are you talking about the actual exhaust pipes at the end or like a muffler that goes in the middle somewhere?

Yeah it's pretty damn loud, I'd put up a vid but it's at Z1 at the moment.

Swap to a 2.5, and add a muffler if you have a straight-through. Make sure to get a retune. It's not gonna like going from 3.0" to 2.5".

There's no need to go down to 2.5" or do something else to lose performance. Just add some more resonators or a large muffler and you'll be fine. Preferably further up towards the engine if possible.

Pretty much it will be loud whatever you do.

If you really wanna quiet it down, take out the turbo kit.

What I was getting at was if he was to remove the kit, he could just go back to stock everything and not worry about disturbing anyone.

If you keep the turbo kit, you're most likely going to be disturbing people no matter what.

Unless you want mufflers on mufflers on mufflers.
