a couple of years ago i smoged my car with the stillen HFC. the sniffer numbers were no where near what they needed to be then. there is no chance now. the visual inspection is a lot more comprehensive. i never go hassled about my stillen intake before. but i got smoged this year and they required the sticker or they would fail me. i was lucky i still had it in my closet and i only live across the street from the smog place.

Why do you think we respond to questions like this thread Bluedevils? To keep you from waiting in line at a Smog station and driving home with a rejection/falilure stamp!

If you want your car to continue putting out as little emissions as possible than leave the stock cats on. Any HFC will put out far more pollutants and fail CA's smog tests no matter what. Fight the smugness within, you can prevail

Just an update. I past the visual part of the car. he couldn't see under my car since it was super low. BUT, when doing the test my sensors were turned off on the catalytic converters. So, i had my runner guy turn them back on and i have to drive around a couple of days for the "ready".

usually when you reset your ecu. it takes x amount of miles and 5ish cycles of the ignition for the ecu to get to the ready state.

I am beginning to think i won't pass if they are reading the ECU. I might have to put in the wrench time to put the OEM cats back on.

I have Berk HFCs and had to remove them in order to pass smog, I failed the 1st time.
Last 2 times they didn't even do a visual inspection so I guess it depends on where you go.
