Tomei Expreme single exhaust on G35?

Im looking at light exhaust options and the Tomei Expreme single seems to fit my needs, except its only made for the Z. I see where there are extender/adapters for other systems. The tomei looks like its a slip fit with springs, so Im not sure how it would adapt.

Ive seen several videos of G35s running this system, Im just curious the details on how it was adapted. I cant weld Ti, so Im looking for a bolt on option.

If there are other threads you know of that I missed in my searching, Id be more than happy to check them out.

thanks

Cbax, it's quite simple if that's the exhaust system you want. Adapters from Z to G35s, I'm confident you find what you're looking for. That system should sound good once you switch the OE cats for HFCs, that's where 60% of the restriction is!

Does the adapter go right after the Y? If so, then yes..very easy with the flange there. I was assuming the adapters went further down stream.

New the platform, trying my hardest to not ask dumb questions.

Cbax there are very few dumb questions, how else are you going to learn? The adapter bolts on right after the y-pipe. To increase your knowledge read all the stickys at the top of the coupe page, questions use our Search! Good Luck and enjoy the ride...Gary

one thing you need to worry about with that tomei exhaust if you even care about it, is ive seen alot of people have burn marks over the exhaust on there rear bumpers. i wish i could see some dyno gain charts with this exhaust and y pipe ive always wanted one, only like 17 lbs to lol

I wonder if its because of the length of the adapter. The guy that responded to my email from Z1 said he runs a 10" adapter. Maybe that puts the tip far enough out from the bumper to not turn it black. Im not too worried about it though. I'll do something about it if I have to. I just want to get the weight down on this girl....as long as she keeps her hips.

Thanks for the responses guys!

A fellow autocrosser has a 2wd dyno in his garage. Tuned my last car there several times. And I tune a few other friends cars. I got a hypertech with the purchase of the G, but Im planning to go Osiris for more functionality. I may dyno tune it with the car set up the way it is now and again later this fall or next spring after exhaust and Osiris. Im getting itchy to make some noise now though. Stock exhaust sounds awesome, but I want moar! I'll post up before/after stuff in the dyno section when that happens.

I'm running the tomei exhaust, also have a couple videos on YouTube. It bolts right up with an 8inch extention.

It's not a burn mark on the bumper it's just carbon build up. You can actually see it in my profile pic. Gives it character lol

sounds good guys. Just trying to find the best price I can on the cat back and some HFCs.

I put a word into my buddy for dyno time as a baseline. And planning to do some back to back intake testing after what Ive read in the intake sticky about the Takeda thats currently installed. I basically just want to see if correcting the AFR with the Hypertech (if it can even do it) has any difference compared to the intake sticky where he just bolted each one on.

How to get G35 header bolts off

Using a 30 in extension and a swivel with a 9/16 going from the top of the car through the engine bay after PBing the bolts the bolts came off pretty easily. I know using standard tools on a metric vehicle isn't recommended but I cracked a 14mm and the 13mm wouldn't fit so using a 9/16 which sits close to 13.5mm when converted was the last option and it worked so thats what I would recommend.
