"Quiet" Coupe Exhaust

Does anyone have recommendations for aftermarket exhaust that is only slightly louder than OEM?

My muffler has some decent rust, so I'm trying to plan ahead to when it inevitably gets a leak. I like the OEM sound, but I wouldn't mind if it was a little louder and deeper.

So far, the best I've found seems to be the Fast Intentions "Traditional Cat Back". I haven't seen a video of it specifically, but most of the videos of G35s with even the louder FI cat backs still don't seem as loud as a lot of other brands.

Does anyone have a sound clip of their "Traditional Cat Back", preferably with stock cats? I haven't been able to find much.

It looks like the second one, based on the shape of the mufflers, would be the FI traditional cat back. I like, but are there any other relatively quiet options I should be considering?

Can't say I'm in love with how the FI tips line up with the factory bumper cutouts.

best arnold schwarzenegger quote. (sorry i had to)

ummm but on topic assuming you are not in california, i would check out high flow cats. it will most likely give you the sound you want. but i see you said your muffler is starting to rust. soo... i personally like the invidia exhaust it sounds good in person, but i have never owned it. soo i might not be the best person to ask.

This thread has me worried about drone with the Nismo exhaust, but I do plan on installing sound deadening when I upgrade the factory sound system, so that may be a non-issue.

+1, the Fuji is a mellow exhaust, only slight louder than OEM.

I have the Tanabe Touring Medalion on my coupe. It is a bit louder than stock and there is a bit of slight drone between 2300-3000 RPM, but mainly when it's hot/humid out, and it's not like what I've experienced with other exhausts on my old Nissan Z32. I've grown accustomed to it and the sound is pretty sweet when you get on it.

Thanks for the help guys.

I think I'm going to go with the Invidia Gemini with rolled lip stainless tips. It seems to be one of the cheaper options that has a near OEM sound.

Looking for an option that won't drain your wallet? Since the rust on your muffler seems to be your main concern why not replace the muffler with a Magnflow replacement muffler? Slightly louder sound and way less $$ than a new exhaust system.

Gary

Is there a direct-fit option? I can't seem to find one.
