Crawford Header Install

Id like to get some feedback from anyone thats either installed the Crawford Headers or has had them install. Im basically at a point where the drivers side header just does NOT want to go in and Im leaning towards just putting the car back together and letting a performance shop deal with the headaches.

For those that have the headers installed now (either thru a shop or self done), are you having issues with pipe/hose clearance around the headers? It doesnt look like much room was given after the headers are finally in and Id like to see if anyones had any problems with the headers burning up any loose engine components.

Any input would be MUCH appreciated.

Really!?

I spoke with Doug at Crawford Z a few hours ago about fitment into a 2005 sedan
and he made no mention of this. He told me an Infiniti dealership in Texas is doing
this install into a 2005. I would suggest calling Crawford Z to confirm this and discuss
the install problem you are having. A quick phone may save you lots of time and
money.

motor has to be raised off the mounts somewhat to complete installation - do what I did and take it to a professional and let them deal with the headaches... it took me about an hour before I finally realized I was wasting my time...

Well, the original Install procedures I found were for nismo headers and on that you dont need to lift the engine. After we took everything apart and saw that the headers wouldnt fit I discovered there was an install manual on the crawfordz site ( http://www.crawfordz.com/support.htm ). Those state that the engine HAS to be lifted.

I can only guess that the nismo headers werent as wide as the crawfords. We basically got the passenger side header in after lifting the engine. However the driver side header is missing getting in by about an inch. After hours of trying to find a way to squeeze it in (and removing more engine parts) we basically decided to give up on it.

At this point Im going to do what bzabodyn did and take it to a shop. I wish we only wasted about an hour on it however, we ended up giving up after about 20 hours of work (spread out on 2 different days.

Sorry for your pain in the butt with the install. I am considering getting the Nismos. Do you have a link to the nismo header install procedures you referred to?

Thanks,
