Building my own Fast Intentions exhaust? Opinions pls

Hey yall, as I'm sure a lot of you have experienced, deciding on an exhaust is a struggle.

I think I've settled on the Fast Intentions, but I just can't stomach the fact that it's $1300+ shipping for a magnaflow x pipe, sebring tuning mufflers, and a couple SUS304 2.5 inch pipes. I get that the welding job is supposed to be really nice, but it also takes like 2 months to get to you, and any good exhaust shop can do nice welds, plus I can pick titanium tips instead of the boring SS ones that the FI exhaust comes with.

Is there anything wrong with my idea/plan? Shipping will be a lot cheaper if I order the mufflers and x pipe on their own too, vs a built long exhaust.

How much does it normally take to do the welding/cutting of the SUS304 pipes?

I think I would still directly buy the FI RHFCs though

Just find a shop in your area that does mandrel bending and have them make you a custom exhaust.

Don't wish to spend that kind of $$ for an exhaust system, but why? Here's a better idea, keep watching our Marketplace under Private Classified for a used quality exhaust system. They hardly ever wear out being stainless and you'll end up with a great sounding system for way less than half the cost. Two more suggestions, buy only a "True Dual Cat Back System" which eliminates the y-pipe! Stay with Fast Intentions, HKS (the real ones) or Motordyne!

I feel like you didn't really understand my question.

Fast Intentions uses Sebring tuning mufflers and a magnaflow x pipe with stainless steel 304 2.5 inch piping. It should cost around $350 for 2 mufflers + only like $80 for the x pipe. Then another $200 if I want to get Ark titanium burnt SS304 tips. Parts wise, that's around $650, and then I could easily get welding + mandrel bending from a 5/5 rated shop for less than what fast intentions ends up charging you in order to do it. I mean look at the exhaust design. Why would a custom job with the exact same parts that FI uses be any less good? Plus if there's any problems with it, it's much easier to go back to the local shop than ship it to CA to be fixed.

https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...al-pickup.html

It looks so simple compared to some of the other ones like the TDX2 or Ark Grip

Buying the FI exhaust is 1330 + 130 shipping btw
