No, the G37 uses a dual intake system, the VQ35DE is a single intake.

Your best bet is to get a Z tube and a rev-up airbox.

Ok here's a picture of the VQ35HR, it's very similar to the VQ37VHR that came equipped in the G37. Notice how there are TWO intake tubes and two throttle bodies.

Next is a picture of the VQ35DE that comes in your G35 coupe.

The VQ35DE came in two flavors, the regular one came in all 2003-2004 sedan/coupe, also in 2005-2006 sedans with the 5AT transmission, also in the 2005-2007 coupes with the 5AT transmission.

The other variant, the "rev-up" engine came in 2005-2007 coupes equipped with the 6MT transmission and 2005-2006 sedans equipped with the 6MT transmission.

Aside from the engine differences they came with a different airbox, it has a much larger velocity stack and generates more power. Here is a picture of the rev-up airbox circled in red, on the left is the non-rev one.

The "z-tube" is just the intake tube from a DE equipped 350Z, it doesn't have the resonating chamber that the G35 ones have so it sounds a lot throatier, you will also need to PCV hose from a 350Z because it's in a different location than the pickup for the G35. Here is a picture of an OEM z-tube, it doesn't have separate couplings they're all built into it.

Stillen makes their own "Stillen Z-tube" that reuses the G35 factory couplings.

Now you're all caught up. There aren't many gains to be made from swapping out the intake pipe, most metal aftermarket ones actually LOSE horsepower because they suck hot engine air. The factory unit is a cold air intake.

The only real "upgrade" to the intake is a 75mm throttle body and a 3.5" intake, this requires an uprev tune.

I've decided after learning i would need a new ECU, another MAF, possible loss of power, and other problems... I won't be pursuing this mod for simply aesthetic reasons.

Now I'm deciding which g37 or g37s to buy.

I'm looking at 350z intake's but they don't have the intake breather tube on them. Can you explain what to do about that since the hose wouldn't have anywhere to connect.

EDIT: Some aftermarket ones might actually delete the PCV inlet if it was designed to use on a racecar with a PCV delete. It should probably state that in the description though.

They do have it, it's just in a different location than the G35, you will need the PCV hose from a 350Z if you are using a Z intake.

Same with the OEM z-tube, gotta use the 350Z pcv hose.

The OEM G35 has the intake PCV fitting on top side of the intake hose, 350z have the intake fitting on the bottom of the intake hose. As Cleric670 mentioned, you'll need the 350z PCV hose when installing a Z-tube or OEM Z intake hose.
I'd recommend picking up a set of silicone intake couplers too. Z1 and now ConceptZ make them. Both my original couplers were cracked when I got my current G.
