Z-Tube install and ECU reset results + ??

Did this mod in the garage this morning (another day of rain in boston)... Took all of 15 mins. I also reset the ECU - took two tries, but pretty quick. Thanks to all who posted fantastic DIY info.

Here are the questions:

* Will the ECU reset in combination w/ the Z-Tube improve or hurt fuel economy?
* I noticed that the engine was idling at 2-300 RPM and dead silent. This is FAR better than my previous stock setup - have you experienced the same results?

The thing really sounds nice when opened up now - amplifies the growling sound I loved to begin with!

Thanks guys!

z-tube is a sound enhancement - not a performance one...

The ECU reset only affects the automatic transmission settings. There's a chance that you could lose a little gas mileage after the reset, but that's only because the car usually puts itself into "grandma mode" after a week or two. Resetting it will give it a little more pep.

Are you sure about this? I only know of one dyno comparison, but the guy reported a loss in max. toruqe and hp throughout the powerband. See the "Reviews" section.

I would really like to know how the Z-tube actually affects the cars power. I'm not sure that it nets positive results.

Can anyone w/ experience comment on this?

Sorry guys - I didn't do a forum search before posting this. So let's not start up another z-tube nightmare discussion.

Everything is running awsome... z-tube sounds good, and yes, the car feels crisper 10 days after the install then right after. Mileage is right where it was, horrible

Cheers!

I've installed it - dyno'd and took it off a few weeks later. It was 1HP and more noise...
