My Injen Exhuast review

Today it's been exactly three weeks that i have my Injen SES exhaust on my 05/coupe. Thought i give you all a review about this exhaust.

Now i am sure this has been talked about 100 times already about how Injen exhaust have fiber glass issue, well that was my #1 concern as well..& the out come at this point is it's so far so good. Allthough my car is IP however, like some people recomend wash the car 1st then go for a spin which i did & so far no sign of fiber glass. Now sound wise i think this should be clear with everyone, this exhaust is very loud & that's plain & simple. I will be very honest first few days it was very annoying but, now i am getting use to it & begining to enjoy the sound.

Power wise, with this exhaust you'll definetly get a noticeble high end torque but, then again be ready to loose some lower end torque my car is AT therefore you can definetly tell.

My only complain about this exhaust which i really wish some one would mention before i placed the order which is not a big deal but, then again when you spend close to $900.00 on exhaust i think everything matter..I notice the quality of the exhaust can is not very strong at all, so far i already got two small rock chip/ding on both can . Besides that so far i am loving it. If you have any question feel free to ask...

Shawn,
You might want to consider installing a H-pipe to balance out the Injen's true dual flow. When I installed mine, it improved the sound (deeper) and felt a little better low end torque. I agree with your review 100%. My experience with my Injen was very similar.

Here's an old pic of the Injen SES, H pipe and Magnaflow resonator pipes. I went back to a Tanabe Y pipe and oem muffler.

I was just about to have one MIG welded in. Do you really think it does't matter? If not for the power gains, i would like the sputtering sound to stop when the car is warm. Sorta like trying to blow air out your lips without opening your mouth.

Nah bro, you made a good choice, my previous ride was Is300 & i was running headers, racepipe along with Hks carbon ti exhaust & i was under a impression maybe that was loud, until i had injen on my G coupe this thing is way louder, but eventually you'll like the sound of the exhaust, i know i do now.

Don't get me wrong loosing little bit of low end torque is not a big deal cause after all you are gaining power @ top end, i believe that's with any cat back exhaust. The only bad thing about this exhaust is even a small rock chip will put a ding on the cannister.....Maybe that's how it is with all stainless steel exhaust, cause after all my previous cars exhaust was wrapped in Carbon fiber therefore i never had that problem. Over all i like this exhaust.

Interesting - is that why the HKS Hi Power and Stillen exhausts have either X pipes or H pipes. The new Injen Ti exhaust system has a H pipe included. BTW - Magnaflow makes X pipes, see the link - http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/02xypipes.asp.

okay, let me clarify my comment...it won't work for THIS design...Stillen and HKS are two differently designed pipes with dif diameters and material...I'm not saying the X and H concept doesn't work, I'm saying that I OWN THE INJEN SES exhaust and the concept doesn't work on it...btw, my car was a fitment car for the Injen exhaust, so i'm very aware of the design difs between the new Injen Ti exhaust and the current design...and yes, MagnaFlow does carry them, but they won't do anything for this design...your est bet is the exhaust how it comes in the box...it'll yield you the most power just the way it is.

Randy - It's cool!!! I'm just providing my opinions based on my experience with the Injen SES and my G35C exhaust set up.
