i might as well chime in.... i had a set of Kinetix cats, and i didn't like them at all

even after bending the heat shields the fitment was still off and they produced a god-aweful buzzing from the exhaust from like 2200rpm, right in the middle of your typical daily driving rpm range. this was probably from those earlier production runs you mentioned, but regardless, they didn't fit good

the driver's side cat eventually developed a 1-2 inch crack right at the beginning of the cat body, and was gushing exhaust out the side, causing a CEL and sounding like a prop car from the Fast & the Furious.

as for the headers, i personally did not go with the Crawfords, although i regret that decision. you write off 5hp as if it was nothing, however, for people staying NA and running out of airflow mods left to do, a 5hp gain is still a 5hp gain. plus, as with all airflow mods, the gains can be complementary. now that i have intake, plenum spacer, headers, cats, y-pipe, and exhaust, there is virtually nothing more to do once i get my car tuned via UTEC.

designing headers is no easy task, especially when they're being hand built. doug and the crawford crew did their own research and development, rather than just knocking off someone else's design (take a look at NISMO, DC Sports, Strup, Alphawerks, Topspeed [which i have])... design is EXACTLY the same on all of them. they managed to fit impressively long equal length tubing and a nice collector design in a very small space

crawford's customer service is also exceptional. you can call or email Crawford Z Car and usually you will get Doug himself to speak to you. try calling a major exhaust manufacturer and asking to speak to the gentleman that designed your G35 headers lol

well, I guess I do have to admit they probably do have excellent customer service from what i've read....but still, I had many a conversation with Charlie@Strup performance, so to say nobody else will talk to you about their headers isn't entirely true

btw, you're the 1st person i've read about having their kinetix cats crack on them.......but in regards to the fitment issues, those were worked out in the later production runs (which is like 4months ago i think)

and to be fair, during my searches on which brand I should go with, I did find 1 or 2 odd post with somebody said their set of crawford headers (?or was it cats, I don't remember now?) had cracked; so I don't think it's entirely fair to say Crawford makes god-like indestrucible products.

Dude WTF are you talking about man! Do a search and you will find plenty of people who had issues with kinetix cats...not just the fitment issue which according to your 30 posts "they fixed in the new batch" or whatever you said. If you don't wanna buy Crawford products don't, but don't b1tch that other people like it. Sorry, but riggin anything with a cable tie is plain stupid! I am sure that can win a few shows though as I have yet to see anyone in the show circuit with that mod!

In regards to headers - if you really look at all the manufacturers, they claim to be close to equal length, but really they aren't. If you look at the Crawfords, they are basically all equal length. As with anything there are trade offs (more money, harder to install) but you get what you pay for.

I would reco doing a little more research before posting.

I did my searches before I made my decision (in regard to cats), both here, 6mt and my350z. Most, if not all, of the complaints are prior to them re-designing to to get rid of the fitment problems. Yes, i also read your post about how your friend blew his kinetix cats apart, or some such complant

my problem centers from people humping them to death just because they're the most expensive, and everything else is an inferior, ****ty product.

e.g.,

Q - What headers should I buy?
A1 - Strup is good.
A2 - I use DC. Strup and topspeed are good
A3 - I've heard nismo suck
A4 - Strup, DC, everything sucks. Crawford are the bomb! Crawford all the way
A5 - Yea, all the other parts are pieces of ****. MD is **** with their plenum stuff. Crawford all the way
etc....

Why do people jerk off to Crawford products?

Because they happen to make the best stuff. Customer Service is Top Notch, and their stuff flat out works. First TIme, Every Time. No Redesigns because of releasing products too early. I have the full Crawford Package - Headers, Cats, Plenum, and TS Reflash to Crawford Specs. I couldn't be happier with my choice. I'm not jerking off because of it, but I am smiling.

Lou

indeed

Next board meeting, instead of explaining my rational behind my decisions, I think I should just challenege everybody by saying 'WTF? Why don't you go jerk off on your ideas and when you're ready to see why I'm right you can come back and suck me off to get my approval'

Ooooo, that would be sooooo funny

.............and then I'd probably be fired

..........................but it would be soooooooooooooooooooo funny

I'm here to please

But when I saw your name in this thread I was *really* hoping that you were going to write some formula to prove how Crawford products offer 1/ln(365) the benefit as compared to other products

Google Kinetix and Rasp and you will find a bunch of complaining about rasp or no rasp with the kinetix cats.

Google crawford and rasp and you wont get any results on rasp with crawford high flows.

Oh yeah, BTW, run a search on here for Kinetic Cats and look at what you find. Some guy just had is separate at the weld because they were defective. Kinetic wouldn't even stand by their product according to him. SO there ya go! CASE IN POINT!! Crawford = quality products and HIGHER QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

The don't do ham n egger work!
