that looks great cant wait for my weapon-r to come in. Also, did you modify your engine cover? or it fits perfect with the weapon-r intake

Thanks, and the engine cover fits fine over the intake. Took about an hour and a half, and was pretty fun. I really didn't notice the engine being much louder, but I have a hard time distiguishing the intake noise and the exhaust noise from inside the cabin. I did forget to take the lower resonator off, so mabe that has something to do with, but I doubt it. Enjoy the intake it is pretty sweet.

roll down the window and drive around town with it, do some quick acceleration runs up to 6000K rpm's and you'll def. hear the difference. Maybe it's a little different cause i have a sedan and the exhaust note isnt as overpowering as the coupe. glad you like it.

Ok, so after a few days, I'm really liking this intake. It's easier to hear the intake with the windows closed. At about 4000 rpm it sounds like a beast! With the windows open I hear more exhaust than intake. It seems to maybe pull a little harder high up, but that's probably my mind just trying to justify the cost. Hopefully today I will get my MD spacer and put that on tomorrow so I can really feel the difference.

$285 new from Weapon-R directly. I think g35rcr may be selling his used, so you can probably get a better price that way.

I was wondering about getting an intake...but i have no idea how they work or what they do. I would also worry about straining the engine and wearing it out prematurely. But the Dealer probably wont notice since its easy to take out the intake when the engine blows out.
How much power can an intake add to our engines?

An intake won't add any strain to the engine. With this engine you really only get 2-3 hp gain (which you really can't feel too well). They make the engine sound much better. If you plan to do the plenum spacer, and exhaust mods then having the bigger intake will help. By itself it does very little, but it does look and sound really cool.

I posted this before I know but maybe a few haven't seen it. This was taken from 350z board.

"The CAI generally keeps the temperature of the air drawn into the engine about 20-25 degrees lower than the short ram. The temperature of the air taken into the engine also increases less than the WAI does at a stop.
What does this mean, in terms of performance? Generally, for each 10 degrees you drop in temperature, you gain an additional 1% in horsepower. This would mean the CAI would be putting roughly 3 more hp to the wheels than the short ram."

I have always had a CAI, but for this car I'm going with a WAI. It was always a pain to clean the filter and I thought I was getting more performance than 3 ponies. One question I have with the Weapon is, do they still use that foam filter??? I've heard of their filters decaying and pieces of the filter getting sucked into the engine. I figure that they must have fixed this problem if they still sell it. BTW guys, "heat soak" is not sucking up warm air. Any other incorrect use from now will be marked wrong!!!!!

Yes they still use the foam filter, I've heard that it is less restrictive than the alternative. And I'm sure if you keep the filter oiled it won't deteriorate for at least 50,000 miles and probably go even longer than that, which at that time you could always buy another filter.

I guess if you are really worried you could put in a screen after the maf or before the throttle body...
