G35 Coupe factory front lip info
i had a discussion with the parts department at my dealer about the 04' factory front lip spoiler for the G35 coupe. They hav now been told by Infiniti that they won't be available for accessory purchase until the end of January. There is a good reason why. Nissan/Infiniti is having a lot of problems with the front lips. It seems thwy are very weak and crack easily. They are now on the 4th production version of the lip and are still redesigning it more to make it stiffer. It it going to get a little bigger before the final version comes out. But, they will be available as a factory pre-painted accessory like the mud guards.

Thanks for the info. Any word if they are going to make a voluntary recall?
Excuse me, I need to go check my lip . . .

Wouldn't stiffer mean it's more prone to cracking/splintering???? You need some flex, as in Urethane or it WILL crack. One reason I won't buy fiberglass parts.

Re: G35 Coupe factory front lip info
I believe the OEM lip is made out of ABS/plastic material like most of the car bumpers. Even if it is made out of urethane it will crack upon an impact. There is no way to avoid cracking a lip, just gotta drive carefully.

Re: G35 Coupe factory front lip info
Yea no cracks but i did put to scratches onto the lower underneath part. No complaints here about it being prone to cracking, just it being to low and prone to scratching. Can't complain about it either though, cause it does look nice with that lower lip. Have gotten a lot of complements on it and ppl have mistaken it for an aftermarket.
