curb weight vs. spec weight

So everything I read (kelley, edmonds, yahoo etc...) says my car weighs about 3500lbs but the sticker on my door says 4377. What up with that? Are the numbers on the websites that distorted? or is the number on my door adjusted or what? I guess I could just go find a scale somewhere but anyway...

Sorry to bring this one back from the dead. I was looking up info on G35C weight reduction with "search".

Yes, the 05+ weighs around 3500 filled with fluids including gas. I'm pretty sure the 4377 number would be how much the car is capable of carrying according to government standards.

The 4377 would be GVW gross vehicle weight (maximum) which includes passengers and cargo.
