damaged housing/stock ballasts?

I recently swapped out the stock HID bulbs with 8000k's. Question is will the stock housing or ballasts burn out or get damaged in the long run? One night I drive home and touched the headlight housing and it seemed pretty hot. Does anyone have 8000k's running on stock ballasts for a while? Want to know if there has been any long term damages..

thanks

Bulb "temperature" has nothing to do with how hot the actual bulb burns at. 8000k bulbs use no more power than your stock bulbs, and put out significantly less lumens compared to stock. Your ballasts will be fine
