Fixing the front bumper...

My front bumper has been through a lot and the paint has some spider cracks in it and it was also curbed twice and has a good scratch on the bottom driver side. I got two estimates to fix it, one body shop said it would be cheaper to repair and refinish it and the other said it would be cheaper to buy a new one and paint it. They also have to fix a few other things, but this question is just about the bumper.

The replacement estimate is 290 for the bumper and about 175 to paint. So it totals $465

The fix and refinish estimate from the other shop is 144 to repair and 177 to refinish. So this one totals $321

Which would be the better option? I would like to get the new bumper, BUT The repair estimate came in at 1,166 and includes fixing the bumper, repairing a dent and rust on the passenger front fender, and fixing a dent on the driver side front fender. The other estimate is 1,300 to replace the bumper, and fix the dent and rust on the passenger fender, but NOT THE OTHER FENDER. I also have a few more dents that I need to get taken care of by a paintless dent remover.

Me personally, I would go with the new bumper estimate. If you go with the repair they can always come back and say... Well we also had to do this, this and this and that added up to ________. So after it is said and done you could end up paying the same for a bumper that will never again be as good as new.
