Re: Vortech/Bumper MOD PICS! +1 video

I was considering the Greddy bumper until I found out it was made out of fiberglass. I don't know how rich you are but I'm a poor college student and cannot afford to spend $1500(painted and installed) on the Top Secret bumper. This bumper mod will have to do until I see something I like.

BTW, its BUMPER not bumber.

Re: Vortech/Bumper MOD PICS! +1 video

If you ever see a g35 with an ugly bumper, thats me! We had a meet today at Passport if you didn't know, about 6 other owners showed up. Hope to see you at the next one. We are planning a Spring drive out in Shenandoah, that should be fun.

The whole setup cost me a little under 7k.

Hey dollar. I met you at the Passport meet today(I had on the blue sweatpants and grey coat). Awesome install man, I'm jealous. I left after Chris cut the first hole out. Looks good man, you should get more airflow to that intercooler. Let me know when that run up to Shenandoah happens. We'll see how my stock 6-speed can do against your beast.

Poor college student with Vortech SC ? Mod is fine, does the mod really give you that much cooling that you need for the intercooler?

Re: Vortech/Bumper MOD PICS! +1 video

i think the cut outs look good .I am planning on going with Vortech my self and this is a good salution to air flow to the inter cooler . How long did the install take ? {hours] The speed shop I work with charges $75 an hour and would like to get an idea of the cost . Can you tell me what was used to cut the holes out ?

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

Re: Vortech/Bumper MOD PICS! +1 video

I WANT I WANT I WANT! How much HP gain did you get? Any idea what this would do to your engine on a long term basis?

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Vortech/Bumper MOD PICS! +1 video

The dyno was done on 5th gear. My scanner aint working so I'm unable to scan the dyno's but heres a summery. The gains are very noticable throughtout the WHOLE rev-band. Power starts building up fast at about 3.5k rpm.
Stock HP: 238
SC HP: 359
Stock Torque: 232
SC Torque: 304

Price breakdown of the parts:
Polished Vortech kit with Spearco intercooler: $4650
Labor: $750
Unlimited Dyno runs: $150
Unlimited Dyno Tuning: $350
(Optional)Denso Iridium Plugs: $130
(Optional)Apexi' Super AFCII: $350
(Optional)Apexi' Super AFCII Install: $350

Wheels:
Those are Axis Milano rims with +15 front +20 rear custom drilled offsets.

Bumper Mod:
The holes were cut using a rotary air drill kind of like a heavy duty dremel. The black trimming is actually a vacumm hose sliced down the middle.
