Re: vertical doors

The Z I saw it on had a stop when the door opened about 20%. There was no way to get out unless you tilted it up as well.

Re: vertical doors

Use that money for performance mods. Lambo doors are rice on anything but a Lambo.

Re: vertical doors

Yeah, i agree. That is one of the ricest mod i could think of beside neon lilghts at the bottom of the G. Yeah, it might look high-tech and cool on a 100000+ Lambo. But certainly not on a 30k G. The last time i've seen this kind of door other than Lambo is on a pink Civic with Huge wings, and yes, i still recognize it's a civic. I will never do that on my car especially G35C is such a luxurious car. (on a Z might be slightly better) I won't even think about it even if they paying me 3 grand to test fit it on my car. Well, that's just my opinion, if you want to be the first lambo wannabe G35C, go ahead and do it. But i just think there are some much better mods than this with the 1800.

Re: vertical doors

The point of the mod is to have something "different" that all the other people. It is absolutely not to resemble ANYTHING like a lamborghini. The G does not look like that car what-so-ever. Everybody's car doors swing out, so i thought it would be cool and different to swing mine up..just me. I will probably eventually do it, IF they come out with a better kit. The Decah kit to me looks cheap and flimsy.

Thanks again from everyones opinions.

Re: vertical doors

I think it would be awesome... not ricey... just really a head turner... but it seems that the trend for these kits are going towards being able to open normally.. horizontally n then at a certain point , lock, n then be able to swing up vertically mainly for show since getting in and out of the car would be a pain in the *** and there would be body cutting involved on most cars if it didn't swing out horizontally a bit first before going up verses going in an arch motion up and out at the same time.... but the 350z hinge kit does fit our cars I dunno about the hydralic assist seems our doors are heavier so I figure we'd need more support......

I'd do it if there was a way we could just make our doors swing straight up... or at least much less on the horizontal n more on the vertical..n of course if I got them I'd get them powered... =)

Re: vertical doors

I just checked out the web site, vertical doors - you are not seriously going to screw that cr%^p onto your beatiful G. Leave that to the Honda kids - even Lambo doesn't put that on their cars anymore.

Re: vertical doors

I think its phat!!!

My body shop had just finished up doing this other cars and its phat...

And its not just lambos...a few other cars like the delorian and the new range rover concept and many cars being featured for future release (non lambo) show these doors off.

Ricer to some...granted everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I like it. Just gotta do it cleanly

Re: vertical doors

I too think this is a cool mod. (Not too much rice).
I don't think anyone will think you are trying to be a Lam.
And if they do, then they have rice on the brain!
I do think people will think you are creative for having it done, and that does not seem so bad to me.

However, entering and exiting does look extremly difficult, therefore, I would suggest NOT going vertical UNLESS you can find a product that allows for easier egress.

I do think those 'spinning wheels' are rice.
I do think lowering the car too close to the ground is rice.
I do think neon is rice.
