Here's my grille, bad pic just took it in the dark/rain.

Local Shop color-matched it to my car for $47(That price is with tax and lifetime warranty). There will be a new thread tomorrow with WAY clearer pics.

I am doing the same thing to my emblems over the winter. But I think I am goig to go for the high gloss black instead of the chrome. My cars is DG.

yes, you can chrome or black chrome plastic pieces...the process isn't cheap that's why most people end up painting theirs.

yeah, it definately looks darker on white...look how much lighter it looks on the oem grill i painted black compared to the shot of her a$$, the emblems are very hard to photograph as they play crazy tricks in different lighting

Emblems are plastic but they have a thin layer of REAL CHROME on them.. how color chrome is made.. they put the emblem in a type of acid (different acids will create different colors) then its "zapped" electricity and u get black chrome.. I do not have a high understanding of this but we've produced the same effect using paint.. although its not as "shiny" like real chrome the effect is just about the same.. its like comparing ferrari red to our laser red.. almost the same but not quite but oh so close lol..

real chrome is more shiny but it can be re-produced using paint and a correct combo of polish and seal.. HOWEVER real chrome will always be lighter then a painted replica.. because if you lightly brush it with paint you'll get a green-ish hue.. I made a "look-a-like black chrome" emblem in the thread u guys can check it out..
