So i got some headlights off of ebay, installed them....but when i was checking the bulbs once i plugged it in, the left d2s bulb looked out....so of course i uninstalled the left one, took out the bulb (WITH MY HANDS!). I then realized that i hadn't plugged in the ballast on the left one when i checked the bulbs...so i plugged it all in and it worked.

I wasn't told about fingers on the bulbs. will this make them go out very quick?

Since they might be going out soon, i would like to purchase some new bulbs....

I would appreciate a finger pointing in the direction of the best hookup you know of for some philips 6000k ultinons....

THANKS ALL.

btw the headlights off of thecoreman on ebay are in perfect shape. one came with some residue but it wiped off instantly.

why not just wipe it down? just touching it doesn't ruin it for life.

the deal with that is when you touch the bulb, the oil from your hands gets on the bulb. The bulb is then turned on and becomes extremely hot baking the oil on the glass which in turn weakes the glass making it vulnerable to fracture. Considerng that the bulb is pressurized, the weaker glass bulb and the constant pressure from within pushing out makes the bulb busting more so a matter of when rather than if. This can prevented simply by thoroughly wiping the bulb down after touching it.

just wipe with alcohol or a 50/50 alcohol/water mix to rid of any oils.
