I've seen lids in a few places now and for the life of me I can't figure out what they are for and why people want them,

Not trying to bash but can somebody explain what the point of these is?

looks good.. but are they flushed with the hood? the other ones are too thick and stick up a little. looks cheap.

They are not perfectly flush, but don't stick up much.

They would have been to thin and fragile otherwise.
