you can always paint a carbon fiber hood 100% or leave parts of the hood unpainted.

^ That's the best suggestion you're going to get.
Our hoods are made of aluminum, so they're already light. The Carbon Fiber hoods weigh only about 1lb less (I've been told - can someone verify?). If you don't like the carbon fiber look, you could always paint it. But for the weight reduction it's not worth the cost of buying the hood and having it painted.
If you're looking to spruce up your hood, you can always get some hot rod flames painted on the front of it!

From experience, most don't fit properly, the gel coating usually fade pretty darn quick and look like crap, and they are not very strong. Driving over 80+ mph would cause the hood to flap around a bit. Which is why you must install the (2) hood locks on each corner to prevent the hood from popping open and breaking/flying acorss the freeway.
