Hood Question?

I'm interested in getting a hood and i'm not diggin the whole carbon fiber hood.. is there anything other than that? something lighter than the stock and nothing too outlandish.. just sumthin to spice up the look. Any suggestion would b greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

you can always paint a carbon fiber hood 100% or leave parts of the hood unpainted.

^ That's the best suggestion you're going to get.

Our hoods are made of aluminum, so they're already light. The Carbon Fiber hoods weigh only about 1lb less (I've been told - can someone verify?). If you don't like the carbon fiber look, you could always paint it. But for the weight reduction it's not worth the cost of buying the hood and having it painted.

If you're looking to spruce up your hood, you can always get some hot rod flames painted on the front of it!

agreed except for the flames . Personally I would stick with the stock hood because the only thing the CF has over it is the CF look. Also the CF hoods are a PITA to install and fitment is tough as I was told. However I do not know first hand. So just save your money and put down a down payment on the Megan Brakes group buy!

You have better things to spend money on than a new hood.

From experience, most don't fit properly, the gel coating usually fade pretty darn quick and look like crap, and they are not very strong. Driving over 80+ mph would cause the hood to flap around a bit. Which is why you must install the (2) hood locks on each corner to prevent the hood from popping open and breaking/flying acorss the freeway.
