DIY? - side mirror support removal

I tried searching for while on some direction in how to remove the supports for the side mirrors and couldnt find anything.

I see how to remove the mirror from the support (screws on the bottom) but how about the support itself? Do I have to take the door panel off.

I want to get the painted to match the car.

Thanks

Did it not to long ago after i ripped off my driver's side mirror...

Not too difficult. I just followed the removal instructions in the service manual pdf you can find by searching this site.

Words of advice though, leave the mirror bolted to the support till it's off the car. You have the power wires strung up there and until you disconnect them and remove the bolts for the support under the door panel, it'll just hang there and be a pain in the ***. Also, remember to bolt the mirror back to the support BEFORE you put it back on the car. Those 3 little bolts are a pain to get in there once you have to deal with the curvature of the outer door getting in the way.
