i would say inside for a simple job, but you could do the first one too but paint the inside black instead of leaving it silver.

just a thought

Paint the OEM engine cover....?

Hey Joker, I like the inside painted too. Use high heat paint just to be safe,
you don't want to do this again soon. Joker, you need the other battery
cover it makes the compartment look finished....kinda like the cherry on top
a hot fudge sunday....HAHA No, don't paint it white!

White on the inside, glass black on the outside. Sand it so the paint sticks.

alright I went for the inside one.

My grille is painted flat black so I'm doing the cover same flat black. It looks pretty much same as it did before but after I do center in white and cover it with clear cote it'll be alright.

Masking was pretty easy and INFINITI sign comes out so I did not have to mask that.

Here are some pix.

haha! What happened? If you didn't fubar the paint down to the base, you might be able to sand whatever you did out of the clear and respray. Either way you shouldn't have to take all the paint off. Unless all of it is pealing.

I would have voted outside though.

As you can see on the first picture I have a cover laying on the garbage bag and then the cardboard.

When I did the clear cote I opened a garage door to take out the garbage. And wind blew a bag over the fresh clear cote.

But now that I look at it I liked it much more when it was just flat paint without clear cote.

So I might try to sand the down the clear cote and just respray the cover again.

Lots of damn sending to do.
