Headlight clip removal

How do you guys disconnect the headlight wire? I'm trying to change my 2005 headlights to the 2006 and find it impossible to disconnect the main headlight wire. Is there a something i press on before pulling?

The passenger side is a PITA because there's less room to work with. If I remember correctly, you really have to press on the clip for it to release.

you can pull the clip of the headlight...just pull really hard and it should release...it makes it alittle bit easier to un-plug it.

The passenger side is a B***H, it was hard for me to press the release clip becuase it's on the bottom and there was no room. I had use a flathead screwdriver to push the clip in order to disconnect it.

PITA for sure...you have to remove it off the bracket that it's resting on, but even that's a PITA as well.

You'll barely see the bracket since the wire slack is to it's bare minimum to move the headlight assembly out of the way. You'll just have to wiggle and yank it out blindly, pulling towards the rear of the car.

Once you get that off the bracket you'll have a little more slack to move the headlight assembly and get a better reach/grip to separate the harness.

Would it be a problem if I yank from the wires?

I wouldn't suggest that becuase you can pull the wires out of the harness completely, then you'd really be SOL. If you're going to yank it, yank it from the clip, not the wires.
