Ok, so I got some good daylight and looked over my tail lights.. They're not as bad as I thought.. The rip sort of healed itself and you can't even tell its there. Everything is perfect except for the edges.. How can I get these out and make it smooth?

sorry to say but you did a poor job cause it looked like mine when i tried installing a pair myself . ANyways if the overlay is already dried, you cant really fix it

 

better order a new set... that looks horrible. Once it's dried, you're screwed.

yeah, that doesn't look pretty bro and there's nothing you can really do about it other than get new ones.

 

Its not as bad as it seems.. They look perfect, its just those small ridges.. They're still peeling off a little easy.

I need a better camera/ lighting.

 

try installing them with rubbing alcohol, I used soapy water the first time and screwed it up.

maybe your vinyl was lower quality or something? I think you mentioned that you got it on ebay....

 

I got my on eBay too, like 2 1/2 years ago, and they still going strong.

 

don't worry it's really hard for the overlay to conform over the tailights evenly. That's why it scrunches up like that. Even if some parts is still peel-able easily fact is other area might be dried permanantely and when you peel that part off you will stretch the overlay causing stretch marks along the vinyl

If you absolutely wanna try to fix it. Then get a heat gun use your the surface of your thumb nail push the scrunches in while have a friend stretch that area so get it flatten and after it flattens use the heat gun to dry.

at least go with the gt-r style.

 

I like gtr style, but the my tastes go for the full smoked.. I think it looks very sexy.
