Carbon fiber hood problems

Has anyone ever had there TS hoods "sink" in near the center? I have a real TS hood and the center section between the vents has sunk down. I feel pretty short changed after paying extra for the real TS hood. The hood is about 2 years old.

Its hard to get a good picture of it but you can see it in this one somewhat. I was going to paint the hood black to match the rest of the car but thats just going to make it show up worse.

Sorry to hear... my hood doesn't "sink" near the center. It's kinda hard to tell from the picture, but yeah, it shouldn't "sink" in that area.

Even Randy (caskyline) has the same authentic hood and it doesn't "sink" or have that flat spot in the middle either.

I wish there was something I could tell you on how to fix it....

meatbag, do you have the full widebody kit? Regardless your front looks hawt. Haven't seen the TS front with the 06 headlights. I am definitely digging it.

Cant put anything under b/c the bracing for the hood runs right under it. Even right now there is a gap between that "backbone" and the outer skin. makes me wish I just got the FRP version now. Maybe I will try to put some vents in the OEM hood.

Lawy'dU - Yes its the full TS widebody.

I think its from the heat in the engine causing it deform. I've seen this only one other time on a veilside hood.

Hood has only been on a running car for about 24 hours. Other then that it sat in my house.

Did you put anything on top of it? also when you had it shipped the shipping company may have rested something on top of the box which caused it to deform.

On a side note more pics of your car

Why, if the CF was properly made would the heat cause the deformation? Granted I agree, but this shows the quality of even TS CF parts.

hmm...well thats about the only reason I can think of, unless its a bad mold. I know Seibon had issues with the 350z TS hoods before warping in the middle, one of my customers had a shop reinforce it from the underside and it looks great now. We ended up paying for it to get done and it was just over $200. Might want to consider trying that.

Nothing sat on the hood ever. It looks like its just a bad mold or something. So far Top Secret hasn't responded. I am thinking ill be screwed on this one b/c I have had the hood for 2 years and only recently put it on the car.
