Opinions on tint% for a obsidian black G.

originally i was planning on getting "limo" tint (5%) all around except for windshield, but one of my friend mentioned that limo tint on our obsidian black G would not look so good since its really dark and makes the car look like one big piece of black object on the road.

he thinks that i should opt to still keep it dark, but not so dark. So i'm thinking maybe either 15% to 20% all around. He also mentioned that because i have black interior, so 15% or 20% will look even darker.

i've searched the forums and i have seen a couple pics here and there, but do you guys have any other good shots of OB G35 coupes? specifically any with 5%, 15% and 20% installed? thanks in advance.

p.s. does our cars come tinted from factory on the rear 3 windows? i bought my car used and my car already had tint on it but i'm not sure if it had been installed by the previous owner or not. if it is factory, does anybody know tint percentage?

Thanks again guys!

I have an 08 G35. I don't think the rear windows are tinted. If it is, it's very subtle. If you think limo tint is too dark, go with 15%.

15% is a good compromise between safely seeing on side streets at night and having the "limo" tint look.

I would go 5% if you aren't too worried about getting pulled over. It looks good on an OB coupe. Here's mine. I've got both day and night pics throughout the thread

If it were me, I'd go limo because it would look like one big black object on the road. I say the heck with what your friend thinks!

Here's mine. i just got it done a week and a half ago. Its 20% tint in the 2 front windows. And my 3 back windows were tinted from the dealership like you had mentioned. Im guessing its close to 20% as well because i dont know if u can tell, but the 2 front windows are actually a pretty close match to the back windows. In person, it looks pretty much identical. maybe even a slightly darker then 20%.

15%, don't go with 5%.

I have 15% and I have to roll the windows down when I back out of my driveway.

I have 5% all around and windshield tinted 50%... no pic right now but it is completely blacked out... I like it that way and think it looks mean as hell... as for driving at night, the only difficult thing would be backing out of the driveway, other than that good to go.

I have an 07 OB with black interior. I went with 20% tint all around. I love it. I think anything darker would be too dark. I don't like having to roll down windows so I can see out of them at night. We already have bad enough blind spots on this thing.

Don't have any pics right now though, sorry.
