That would help but it doesn't look like there would be enough air going through to support the intercooler.

the silver middle is not doing it for me. Too much of a contrast.

Thanks guys!!

I'm still thinking about re-painting silver middle part. Like ZXERT said, they did match the color with head lamps housing but like Sportcoupe35 said, the silver somewhat pops out too much.

I carefully looked the other similar grill designs like new audi's and original GTR's and found out those also have same amount of CONTRAST(ie: black middle + bright body exterior) but when it is inversed(bright middle + dark exterior) doesn't feel in the same way. I mean, it feels totally different.(hard to say it feels weird tho.)

I think it is some sorta stereo type in color system that we feel more comfortable in certain ways. As we Normaly see the grill area or any intake hole painted or looks black due to design purpose or no reach of lights so when it's inversed it looks kind of un-usual even though it has exactly same contrast rate.

The reason why I asked AIT to paint the middle part in Dark gun-metal were :

1) The middle part of the original GTR is mostly Black BUT as an exception, it's glossy Gun Metal for Black GTRs. (I haven't seen GTR on the road but according to 360 degree flash exterior viewer in GTR official website it looks like gun metal and goes with black very well.)

2) To match with the gun metal rims on my G. The eye-catching part of this bumper which occupies most space and has it's design cue is the middle intake part so I thought it would be better to match the color of it with the gun metal rims since it's the only secondary / additional color on my black G.(except Red rear stop lamps and clear corners.)

Well.. since I know re-paiting the middle part in gun metal is going to be another un-expected cost and punish my bank account so will wait and see more and find the RIGHT place to have it re-painted.

Hope it works as a good reference for black G owners planning to have the same GTR style bumper.

Again, Thank you very much for your comments.

The black G in the pic is mine.(Think the red one is RedSkylineGT's)

Asked them to paint Gun-Metal for the intake area but they painted silver instead of Dark grey gun metal. I think it pops out too much but well.. some say it looks good. (I thought gun metal or flat black would work better but silver worked out just fine since I got gun metal + bright silver rims)
I'm really satisfied with it's aggressive look and perfect fitments. Asked them to re-paint the OEM hood and they did a perfect job at color match & finish with resonable cost.

Special thanks to RedSkyline GT for information about GTR style bumper.
