I got it flat black since I have the rear diffuser in that color too.

Flat black ftw! I didn't paint the emblem at all, just pulled it off and did the grille. Took a couple of hours, since I sanded and did a few coats, with drying time inbetween. Everyone that's seen it thinks it came that way from the factory, so I guess I did a pretty good job.

My emblem us completely unpainted, you can't tell really unless you are looking closely.

gloss blacks only works on OB ..IMO matte would work

True but some people are **** about those things... like me lol

Thats why i had to get a new front emeblem when i went back to the stock grill...

Semi Gloss FTW. I researched this topic like crazy when I decided to do my grill. I lightly sanded the grill with 400 grit sand paper. You really just want to scuff it up lightly so the paint adheres a little better. I cleaned it and then applied 2 coates of primer and almost one full can off semi gloss black from Home Depot. Patience is the key here, do it right the 1st time and it will last quite a while AND look awesome. I didnt bother using a clear coat because when I do get chips it's a quick process of removing the grill, cleaning it and spraying the affected areas again with semi gloss black. The close up pic kinda sucks because it was windy and I kept getting little white specs on the grill.
