faded 350GT emblem

The red lettering on the bottom of my 350GT emblem is turning whitish in certain areas? I'm not sure what's causing it because it's very uneven.

What should I do to restore it, aside from buying a new one? Thanks

Mine is doing the same thing. However when washing the car, when the emblem is wet it goes away.
