reverse light does not work

i have an 06 taillight and its smoked out..

however.. my reverse light does not work but the other lights work (brake and signal lights)

any suggestions, maybe the reverse light is out or i need to hook it up.

i bought the car this way and i havent opened up to see the light harness yet

thanks
