aright a lil update:

Got the led's there White round (5mm) 850MCD.. BUT the 5mm round led is to big to fit in the small gap in the keyhole cover.. so on monday ima buy led's wich are about 3mm and there flat.. got my resistors tho. for a 12v application its rec. a 510Ohms resistor. now im trying to figure out how ima gonna power them for the time i want them ON when unlocking/locking...

Once i have all the right materials ill write up a DIY and i could also supply the materials needed for a small price, So u wouldnt have to go thru exspensive websites to get ur materials, i get'em cheap at my mom's work because of the large quanities they get, she works putting together P.C. boards... I would be abel to sell white, blue, red, green, yellow, maybey more colors ill check it up
thanks,
andrew

I'm liking the way it is in the first video. Of lighting up the area under the handle not lighting up part of the door.

Maybe just have it be on with the door portion of the dome lights. Those come on when you press unlock and go off when you lock. I might try that kind of thing.

May be a stupid question but is the "map light" the dome light?... if so is there a way i can tap into a wire with a 12v curent when i unlock the car BUT have the domelight switch on the "off" position not the "door" position?..

Yes, I'm not sure how but yes. You can turn each light on individually by pressing it but when you unlock/open door they both come on. I'd have to look through a wiring diagram, I'll post an answer in a few.

Alright so I just looked at the wiring diagram and it is actually pretty simple. On the map light itself there is a 3 pin connector R52. You want pin 2 (the center pin) If you have a multimeter or a voltmeter check it just to make sure but it should be grounded whenever both lights would be on normally (open the doors, unlock the car etc.) So run a wire from there to the ground of a relay. You SHOULD use a relay since that wires is controlled by a computer and those are sometimes sensitive to extra loads.

So relay has 4 pins.
30 and 85 to +12vDC
87 out the the LEDs
86 to pin 2 on R52 @ map light.

Hope that helps.

Evo-r.net has a kit to do that but it could be done and would be wire the same as above for the LEDs.

This company I have gone through has done Led's in the door handles. In fact they were the first one in Sacramento to offer something like this. Check out their website Eclipseyourcar.com.(916)334-5500. They can wire it into your factory alarm system, or aftermarket. The best thing about tying it into the alarm is that when you unlock it or disarm it it will stay on for a minute or less. They even do cluster lighting upgrade. I know on mine I have the dingy orange which I really don't like. I have plans on modifying the cluster with different led's through this company. Ask for Sean, he'll be the one doing the mod for me. Not sure what I want to do with color, maybe white throughout the AC control and cluster with Blue as the needle for my Tach, Fuel, and Speedometer.I'll have pics posted as soon as it's done! There only going for $2.00 a piece.

Of course your always going to find cheaper leds, but when it comes to quality, should the price matter or the product itself. I experimented with cheap leds before and it was something I would expect from a cheap led. The difference is going to be the way the led's are produced. The company I deal with has their own line of leds with their own patent, and what separates these from the one you can get on ebay or superbrightled.com or so on is that these leds have built in circuit protection. This protects the led from any type of voltage spike that can cause the led to shorten out. It also protects the led, from installing it the wrong way. Most leds that you do that to can shorten them out or causing them to fail.
All I'm saying is that I have plans of keeping my G35 and I want the lighting mods to hold up during the years to come. I would hate to hack into the cluster or dash again to replace the led that went bad.
