3M Auto Clearbra

I am debating on whether or not I should go ahead a get it installed on my new G, I've just never really heard much about it.

Whats your opinion on the stuff?
DIY install? Pro install? Ease of removal? Does it harm the finish? Ect.

It already came installed on my vehicle and let me tell you, it is definitely worth it. I can't tell the the difference in the layers where it is and it isn't, unless you look for it. But I have installed on my front bumper, lip kit, hood, side view mirrors, and on the side of my cars close to the wheel wells. I really think it is worth it because I drive highway and I get bugs and what not that hit my front and the paint is safe. Don't think it looks bad either.

Clear bra's are "King!"

If you dislike the dreaded rock chips like most of us the clear bra is king. Every time I see someone with the old fashioned bras on their cars I have to laugh....OMG do they look bad, really bad!

Word. I think those black bras look like crap, covering up the appearance of your car. It really kills the look, almost as bad as getting hit, and buying a replacement bumper thats only primered black. Kinda funny, and when you do decide to take it off, its two tone!!!

Clear Bra In for the WIN!!!!

There is a great product that a number of dealerships are now using called Armorcoat. It is a spray on clear coat with no visible edges that will not get cut or curl up as the 3M can after getting hit with road debris. A number of G37s are getting it done and looks great without any noticeable lines. They have a website if you google armorcoat. I'm getting it for my hood. I have the clear bra on my bumper. Its not a complicated process either. Check it out.

I got the factory stuff on the car back in 05 when the car was new. Works wonders. BUT: the factory stuff put on was called Stone Guard and is not made by 3M. The difference is that 3M stays clear forever. Stone Guard turns light shade of yellow over a few years.
It shouldn't be too visible on a darker car but it stands out on my BS, at certain angle.

For a bit more I would recommend 3M. Pro install for it was quoted to me at about 700$ with a lifetime replacement garantee.

I should look into the armorcoat.....

How much did it cost to get a 3M clearbra put on a sedan bumper, headlights, and front fenders? A guy should be calling me back today with a quote, and he's "taking care of me". Want to know if he's taking care of my wallet, or thinks I'm in need of an **** reaming and wants to take care of that for me...

I believe the armorcoat cost is similar to a clear bra. I was quoted for just the front edge of my hood $75.00 I know the owner, and I believe the cost should be more like $150. I will only go with an Infiniti authorized paint shop. They do all the new cars and had a few on the showroom floor.
