Tail Light Clean up, Help?

Hey guys, I recently had some overlays on my tail lights. Well after about 3 years they have began to "peel" around the edges and what not so I decided to take them off. Anyways to make long story short I got the overlays off but there is so much "glue/adhesive" from the overlay left on the tail lights stuck on the lense. I have tried everything and nothing will get it off. My tail lights also have a few scratches on them...just wondering if you think i could like sand with like a 1000 grit then 2000 and put some rubbing compound and throw some plastX on there and that would work?

Goo Gone or Goof Off. They are both chemicals designed for removing adhesives and paint. Therefore, use them in moderation.

You have to apply the checmical to a cloth/paper towel and apply from the cloth. I don't recommend putting the chemical onto the light itself. Basically just rub hard from there on out.

3M adhesive remover usually works well. In the past, when goo gone couldn't get things off, 3M did.
