Powering HID with 12 volt power supply

Powering HID with 12 volt power supply

I've seen people do retrofit DIY using computer power supplies.. I have a 12v/6v switchable power supply and need to know how to hook the ballast up. When I did the bulb just flickers and makes a really loud clicking sound - I'm afraid I'll burn something up!

is this the OEM matsushita ballast?

It may be that the power supply isn't strong enough. How many amps is the supply rated at?

yeah i think it's the amps.. i saw that on another thread - it's 6/12 v...... and .2 AMPs lol - and my family just got rid of a bunch of old computers!! horrible timing

yeah it's the stock ballast
