rear brake light help

hello all.

I need some help. A friend told me that both the rear brake lights
on the trunk and rear window come on when my brakes are applied.

I want to turn off the one behind the rear window. how exactly
do I do that? I tried asking on another thread but that answer
came up quite vague.

thanks.

If you open the trunk under the rear deck you should find a wire that you can unhook. Be advised that you can be pulled over for not having the third brake light working.

Yes, but if you have the third brake light it is required to illuminate when the brakes are applied. Only remedy would be to remove the light entirely.

If there is no light there is no problem, but if you have one it has to work or you can be cited.

In all honesty, what are the chances of being pulled over for just that? Just don't get in front of a cop on a bad day.
