OEM chin spoiler lowers front by ???

Can anyone tell me how much the chin spoiler "lowers" the front by? Or asked another way, how far off the ground is the front with and without spoiler. I'm asking because of two reasons:

(1) I had an 87 and 88 Mitsu Starions front spoilers and cracked both of them going up and down driveways.

(2) The front spoiler can create performance benefits if it's low enough to cause lower pressure behind the spoiler (like a vacuum) thus creating additional downforce.

The chin spoilers do add a nice touch. Thanks!

You don't loose any hieght clearance. It's just a add on piece.

its an add on to the original bumper but has just about the same contours to the original. It will overlap the original at the bottom but from what i've heard only about 0.8 inches or so

I would say you loose about a inch. It is a add on piece but it sits lower then the stock bumper. I have eibachs and the lip and I hit parking curbs all the time.

Re: OEM chin spoiler lowers front by ???

Does anyone know how to SAFELY remove the OEM front chin spoiler? I think that it has some adhesive tape besides the screws. Any help would be appreciated.

I just installed one on my coupe. It has 4 nuts/bolts, 2 screws, and several clips on the underside. The adhesive tape is nothing to worry about when removing. it's not a very strong adhesive.

All the oem lips are painted, when you order just specify the color of your car. Seems the best price is $300 (local dealer) or same online at everythingg35.com/grubbs plus shipping
