You don't know jack about mfg's and the channel. If mfg's offer give out better prices to end users a few things will happen.
-Resellers get pissed at losing business to mfg Direct and they either quit pushing that brand or quit selling that mfg's product all together.
Now the mfg must replace the value add that the dealers brought to the table.
-mfg need to get a call center to take all the orders themselves along wih all the support questions that come up both pre and post sale. Expanded shipping capabilities, new marketing program...etc. New product... Great! How's anyone going to see it if there aren't any resellers carrying it. Mfg's don't like to do all this stuff so they don't steal sales from their partners (except HP). Bottom line is go to a dealer, they'll always charge you less than MSRP!!
