Couple of Question about CF Hoods

Im looking into getting the Seibon TS hood and Ive got a couple of questions before I drop the cash on it.

Since the TS has slits in the hood can you drive it in the rain and wash it without harming the engine and whatnot?

Are there special washing and detailing methods?

Do you use the stock hood latch and hinges?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Not really. Stock hinges, the hood should already have the latch on front.

A bit of a warning though, I bought the Seibon JS style hood and had to dremel around the latch a bit to get it to fit right. Be prepared to make lots of little adjustments.

Everything the first reply said was right except you ought to consider hood pins, Aerocatch is a popular choice around here. There are many people running without them just fine, but then there are others who haven't been so lucky. Broken latches and messed up fenders, not to mention your hood flying up and blocking your view when you're driving in head-on traffic. Play it safe and get hood pins, do it right the first time.

Also you may want to send your new hood to a shop for a clear coat before using it, Seibon hoods have been known to haze and turn yellow in a matter of months. Clear coating will help prevent that, to a degree.
