drilling for rear splashguards

ok so i know they require drilling but i dont have drills in mm.

but looking at inch/mm conversion ---->http://mdmetric.com/tech/cvtcht.htm

we're looking at the 5mm and 8mm..

so this is the problem, should i go bigger or smaller? i dont know if it will make a big difference but i just dont want to screw up and i dont want to go out and buy drill bits...

smaller if anything...if you go bigger you run the risk of it pulling out. i went to a store got one of those multi bits when i install mine
