what is "killer chrome"?

Edit: Nvm this stuff looks pretty awesome, along with their other line of products. Their paint looks sick!

i used killer chrome on my emblemless grill. it looks very similar to chrome, but it may not be durable enough for automotive applications. the clearcoat they sell to the general public is OK - the one they only recommend for professionals looks a little better.

few tips:
1. you don't need their black base coat. just buy whatever gloss black spray paint you want...that'll save you 20 bucks.
2. you'll want the black base coat and initial clear coat to be as smooth as possible. any surface defects or orange peel will show though in the final coat. take your time with prep work or you won't be happy with the final product.
3. they take forever to ship stuff because they don't carry a lot of inventory. call them ahead of time before ordering.

thanks again bigc. How long did it last for until you had to repaint it or till it kind wore down?

my first coat lasted about 8 months until i accidently marred the finish with some duct tape. the second application lasted another 10 months until my idiot former roommate accidently backed into my hood & grille. i haven't gotten around to redoing it yet
