Depending on the year you might have a problem with the valve body. I have an 06 coupe with a recall on my valve body. Got it replaced and fixed the problem!

The transmission on my 2003 coupe jumps or pauses for a split second. I have taken it in 3 times. The service department claims to have done extensive testing under the direction of Infiniti engineers. They tell me this is a "normal" characteristic of the car. "The computer is trying to decide whether to be in 4th or 5th gear."

One of their mechanics told me his car does it worse. The loaner G35 sedan does it too.

Am I expecting too much from a $35k car? Has anyone solved this problem, and if so, what complaint route did you use?

I noticed my 2003 sedan doing it more now, it has 163,000 miles on it. The car was at the dealership for repairs about a week ago and they suggested that I have the transmission fluid changed because it was discolored. Never had it done before and I'm the second owner of the car, would this mess up the transmission if I have them change the fluid. I hear that somewhere, if you don't change your transmission fluid as recommended or over an extended period of time you may mess up the transmission with fresh fluid.
