If it's a show car and will never ever come into contact with anything..then go for it.
there are a bunch of full fg front bumper daily drivers out here... the bumpers have been holding up fine.

Yeah so I would go forward with the project but my worries about the glass holding up on plastic seem to have been backed up by a few of you guys. I do live in an area where driveways and horrible roads do some damage to a low bumper so I'm feeling wary about it. On the otherhand, its not toooo expensive of a project so I might try it anyways if I can pick up the parts for pretty cheap

^Don't paint the bars. There's no good line to stop painting at.

IMO, it would look better to bodymatch the lower part, but if you must leave it dark, at least do it right and actually have it painted matte black (just leaving it bare gray plastic looks cheap)

^Run by a parts house and pick up some "Car-Art" temp paint. You can try painting it black masked however you want to see how it looks, then wipe it back off again.

^I hope by "cancer on the roof" you weren't talking about rust under the paint. If so then vinyl is a really bad idea.
You could probably get the roof painted for 200-300 if you shop around. My body shop only added $100 for the roof when I had it in for the lower sills and bumper (I do get a special rate though )
Still, it couldn't hurt to ask the shop how much extra it would be to do your roof in gloss black when they do the sills.

its not rust its like the clearcoat got blemished
ill ask around how much it would cost to paint it black but i know its about 30 for the black vinyl and thats almost nothing for me
im thinking of painting the sills myself since im poor lol but if it dosent come out good i will just have them painted at a shop and mist get to roof done at the same time

^Oh ok. Gotcha.
If you do paint stuff yourself, prep prep prep prep prep prep and prep, and when you think you've done enough prep work, prep it some more

I did my wheels and grill and I'm happy with the way they came out, but I was very meticulous about prep work, and I took my time to get it right.

prepped it with 400 then 600 grit sandpaper then some primer and sanded the primer with 1xxx something dont remember and painted it black and clearcoat and it looks perfect .......exept for a small fingerprint i left somehow on the bottom of it how that happened
i love doing mods to my car myself

^Sounds like you've got it figured out pretty good.
Keep a bottle of 91% (or higher) isopropyl alcohol handy to wipe it down between sanding and that'll save you from fingerprints.
