Help! Wet footwell

GF just bought a beautiful 2008 sedan with only 7,600 miles on it. Only problem we can see is that a backed up drain caused some flooding in the p-side footwell. It's been dried as best possible, but there is still some wetness under the carpet that seeps up when you press on it. I'm concerned that if not properly dried it will start to mildew and damage the boards/fillers under the carpet.

I'd like to pull back the carpet and see what the situation is if not too hard - any ideas? If this will require effort (removing seat etc) then any suggestions on drying out the area completely would be appreciated. Also things to look out for or issues that are known on this stuff would be great.

Thanks all =)

Your best option would be to remove the plastic panels around the floor and pull the carpet back. If the area under the seat is wet you may want to remove that too.
