Question about tinting...
Question about tinting...
Hey guys, I am considering getting a tint on my 07 Black G35x. Partially because it looks great, partially because it will keep my car cooler in the summer. Here are my questions...
Most importantly:
1) I was in a car that had a 5% tint and I couldn't see much at all while it was raining even though it wasn't super dark outside. What percent tint do people get on average, and how badly does it interfere with visibility? I have no trouble seeing things when I drive say...my dad's SUV that has stock tint...I don't want to tradeoff safety for cool looks though.
2) Anyone know where I can find out what the legal percentage of tint is allowable in Pennsylvania? Also, I suppose tinting makes you more "suspicious" to police...I'm wondering if it increases the likelihood of getting a ticket...comments?
3) I've heard people talk about ceramic vs. metallic tint. I don't have a GPS in my car, but I will stick one on the windshield at times. I plan on tinting all around except for the front window obviously. Will a metallic tint really interfere with my GPS reception, phone reception, and/or bluetooth within the car? I'd rather not spend so much on ceramic tint...
4) Is it worth going to a place that has a "lifetime" warranty to get the tints done vs. another place that does not? I thought that once they are on there clean, they stay...but a friend of mine mentioned they can start to bubble with time.
Thanks! You guys are great!

first, any percentage of tint is illegal, only a few states they are legal such as cali, flordia, places that get hot all the time and the tint will cool it off, i know in PA they are illegal, jersey, nyc, but people do it anyways because its cool and looks nice. Most cops wont bother you but you may get that once officer who cares and will pull u over and make u take it off .. anyways, i have 5 percent in the back and 20 up front.. as far as life time most places have that so it doesnt matter where you go unless you do it yourself.. hope that helps
This page looks kind of useful for PA tint info, although it's obviously a pro-tint site :P
